I am trying to view videos and i am told to download the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer. However I cannot install the Flashplayer. Using Firefox 26.0, MacOSX 10.9 Mavericks. I know other users are having the same problem, and I have tried all the suggestions to correct the problem, to no avail. Is there an alternative to Adobe Flachplayer? I install it, open it in my downloads, Click install adobe Flash player, and then click open when it asks me if I want to open application downloaded from the internet. After I click open I put in my password, click next, then as adobe trys to download it will get to 50% the stop and say Safari needs to be closed to continue. However safari and everything is already closed. I am able to download Adobe Flash Player.

For the last month or so I've been getting pop up messages on my system that I have to update Flash Payer.
I click the link, download the installation dmg, double click the installer, 4/5ths of the way through it says it can't complete the operation. (I close all browsers etc. )
Google Chrome is running the latest version of Flash as it does it automatically (v14), but Safari and presumably anything else that uses Flash is running v13.

I recently recieved the Flash Player Ugrade notice on my MacBook Pro rinning Lion and I accepted it and began the upgrade. A few weeks ago, I uninstalled Adobe flash player because I thought it was causing some problems.
